This listed (Grade II) Georgian semi boasts capacious in and ex-teriors, including five large double bedrooms and a ‘double’ garden.

Within the chandeliered living spaces, a lively and funky sixties ambience is created via the explosion of colourful modern art paintings crowding the expansive wall spaces. These give the house both its name and its personality.

The wall art theme - think Marley and Dylan portraits plus canvasses awash with whorls of bright abstract colour - is matched by the furniture and soft furnishing choices - the linked trio of funky hair salon seats in the living room being a particular feature!

A portico’d entrance porch leads to a hallway off which runs the dual aspect enjoying garden views at either end of this stunning living room. This light space can be separated across its middle by big original wooden doors, creating two independent living spaces if families or other groups wish. Each half has its own wonderful Georgian fireplace.

The living area is not just a modern art display case, modern technology gets a look-in too: a large screen TV with Sky (including Movies and Sports packages), an iPod docking station and Wi-Fi access being the main features.   

The dining room and kitchen also lead off this hallway. The former is where you can share a meal with the two Bobs – Dylan and Marley – in front of an original, well-preserved and beautiful working fireplace. The kitchen is large, serviceable and naturally well lit. A generous American style fridge provides the focus of attention so far as the ‘white’ goods range is concerned but that is just one part of a full set that includes also a washer-dryer and a dishwasher.

The hallway also gives access to a useful – as the name would imply – utility room, ideal for dumping wet gear used during a day out on the water, or beachwear at the end of a summer’s day at the beach (just ten minute walk away). This room has an adjoining shower room to help warm up or wash off. 

Finally, the hallway gives access to the stairway to the first floor. On the half landing through a stained glass adorned archway, is a separated pair of ‘bathrooms’ – one an actual bathroom, the other a shower room.

Up another half flight is the bedroom floor – five generous sized double bedrooms, each naturally lit through windows that provide views over one of the two gardens. 

The interior design of this floor – white bed linen offset by red: lamps, towels and blinds – is certainly striking and is matched in arresting effect by the gallery style walls filled to the brim with bright art chosen by an eye for the dramatic.
